Manager Facility & Real Estate | VGZ
Richard Helmus is Facilities & Real Estate Manager at Healthcare Insurer VGZ, the latest company to come away with the Winning Workplace Award (for the theme: Human Experience), and this year he is serving Jury Chair. At VGZ, Human Resources and Facility Management are fully integrated and work intensively together to create a working environment that not only ensures that employees enjoy going to work every day, but also helps the insurer to attract talent and retain employees. Starting out with supply-chain management at large retail organizations, Richard has been active within Facility Management and Real Estate since 2000. Since 2012 he has been responsible for keeping the Facility Management and Real Estate division of VGZ--an integral part of the People & Experience business unit--on an even keel. His passion is to continually innovate when it comes to anything that has to do with the working environment (from workplaces to workplaces that work) so that the “happy worker” delivers their best performance for VGZ's core business, thus enhancing its reputation. Richard’s next ambition has been realized in the short term (first quarter of 2020): the Healthiest Office in the Netherlands. And he is also committed to making maximum use of real estate when it comes to commercial connections such as the VGZ Brand Experience. Working together towards a healthier Netherlands, every single day. That is VGZ’s mission, which gets Richard Helmus out of bed every day, raring to go.

Director Workplace Management / Facility Services Ahold Delhaize
Hans Rietveld has overall responsibility for all facility services within the various business units of Ahold Delhaize. For these top names (Bol.com/Albert Heijn/ETOS/Gall & Gall), he is responsible for Soft Services, Technical Services, and housing issues. His portfolio also includes various other areas such as Safety & Aftercare, which, given the paramount importance of workplace safety, is quite significant.
In the course of his daily activities, a number of issues come to the fore, such as healthy working conditions, the workplace experience, and how Ahold Delhaize manages to retain talent. Hans is thus really curious to see how other companies will develop this field in 2020, and how they will contribute in inspiring ways to their business objectives.
